Heat Pumps

A heat pump is an energy-efficient heating system that transfers heat from the outside environment into your home. Instead of creating heat by burning fuel, heat pumps use electricity to move existing heat, making them one of the most efficient ways to heat your property and provide hot water.

For every unit of electricity used, a well-designed and properly maintained heat pump can produce several units of heat, helping to lower both your carbon footprint and your energy bills.

There are two main types of heat pump:

Air Source Heat Pumps (ASHP)

Air source heat pumps extract heat from the outside air and use it to heat your home and hot water. They are the most common type of heat pump installed in the UK and can operate efficiently even during cold winter temperatures.

Ground Source Heat Pumps (GSHP)

Ground source heat pumps extract heat from the ground through buried pipework. Because ground temperatures remain relatively stable throughout the year, these systems can deliver exceptional efficiency and consistent performance.
